This rectangular wooden box is a reproduction found in the French sales catalogs of Le Bon Marché and La Samaritaine. At the time, housewives and dressmakers bought their supplies in large quantities which were sold in these boxes.
The lid is silkscreen printed: “Coudre – Sajou, Paris” (thimbles). This vintage technique of printing adds to the charm of this re-edition.
This box is made from alder wood. The exterior is completely varnished; the interior has been left natural for you to apply your own fabric or design. The inside of the lid is decorated with a vintage style label. The back is double hinged with a front button hook.
Dimensions of the box: 5-7/8”x 3-1/2”x 2”.
